A quilt top done with scraps! definitely not my comfort zone but am happy at the outcome.Saw this pattern on Pinterest and made a baby quilt for Srinika,Priest Swaminathans baby born on 15 th May 2023.The quilting was my usual ,added a polka dot binding, with my name tag (given by Reethi) and gave it away this morning.

Galaxy

Along adream come true.... This pattern referred to by many names has drawn me to it for the longest time...did not have the courage to do it. Butabout a month back asked Reethi to select the fabric and have finished it quite fast . My sil always finishes the pattern in the border also, and for the first time in my quilting life have followed her steps! My niece Priya sent me detailed instructions on how to use the template and voila here it is! It looks amazing, though i say it myself. Only wish my greatest supporter and admirer were here to see it...but am sure he is seeing it from a different place

Baby Nathan quilt ( Abir and Pam’s boy)

I had some HST in blue, made them into Pinwheels and then Reethi suggested that i frame the pinwheels and also do a sashing as a size enlarger...Hurrah! Quilted and bound and given to Baby Nathan in May of 2021!

Long long ago wanted to make a quilt for Keshav. The pattern that i wanted to do was Jacobs Ladder, but half way through realised didnt have enough of the Nigerian cotton fabric...so bought fabric chosen by J at Joanns and made it....will try and insert that later here... To make a long story short... i had nine patch blocks and made use of it in this quilt top called " Stepping Stones " by Marcia Hohn. Right now its being quilted by me in squiggles and will maybe give it to Vamika. Finally its quilted and binding also done. The quilting is not great since the top thread kept snapping...but all told am happy !
Old Madras floortile Long long back J Chandra and me were walking back from Agathiyar Ashramam and stopped by a small boutique...i was struck by the beauty of the red floor tiles, making a beatiful star pattern, it brought back memories of my maternal grandmother who had a similar red floor with a 'Padi kolam ' in the center! Took a picture of it , Reethi wrote the pattern for it on a napkin , started it and abandoned it as the pieces were too small...now picked it up as i want to finish all the UFP and finished it recently...wish my J were there with me but am sure he is watching from somewhere. My plan is to quilt it with squiggles and give it to R and B for their guest bedroom. Thanks Keshav as always for showing me how to upload this photo from the IPad...

Star In 2020 Reethi came up with these Star Quilts suggestion as a Quilt Along...Reethi made one Star QT but I started making 4 Star Quilts to be given to Bhumikka,Chandra Subbu,Lakshmi and Sahana. Some of the Stars were huge challenges as I have never made paper templates before....to cut a long story short it kept me occupied and taught me a few things...before going to see Niko had quilted all of them, but binding was done in September, another skill that i have developed following Jenny Doan of MSQC!!! Making these quilts has kept me sane ....deeply thankfull. Will look for all the names of the Stars on Marcia Hohn website and write them down soon...
